VT Cosmetics Cica Calming Cream (Daiso version)
VT Cosmetics stated on its own store's Q&A board in January 2025 that the Cica Calming Cream is a Daiso-exclusive product and a budget version of its retail Cica line, which uses complexes the Daiso version does not carry. At 5,000 KRW for 50ml it is 100 KRW per ml, against 520 KRW per ml for VT's retail Cica Cream in the same 50ml size at 26,000 KRW list. The declared formulas differ substantially: the retail cream lists four centella actives among its top ten ingredients, while this one declares only Centella Asiatica extract, 29th of 35. Is it OK for sensitive skin?
Declared facts only, not a suitability verdict: fragrance is declared; no labeled fragrance allergens declared; no denatured alcohol listed. No irritation-related fact here implies suitability for any skin type.
How much of the key actives does it contain?
Panthenol: rank 17 of 35, after Phenoxyethanol's 1% marker: typically ≤1% by Korean labeling practice (regulation caps phenoxyethanol at 1% but does not fix its position).
Can I buy it outside Korea?
No international-shipping channel verified in our sources (checked 2026-09-10); Shipping scope unverified: Daiso Korea, Daiso Mall (daisomall.co.kr).
How is the Daiso version different from the original?
VT answered this itself. Replying to a customer on its official store's Q&A board on 2025-01-20, VT Cosmetics wrote that the Calming Cream is a Daiso-exclusive product, that its regular Cica line is built on the proprietary CICALIAO and CICAHYALON complexes, and that the Daiso Cica Calming line is a budget-tier line using Jeju centella extract and hyaluronic acid instead. The declared ingredients bear that out: the retail Cica Cream lists asiaticoside, asiatic acid, Centella Asiatica extract and madecassoside at positions 6 to 10 of 40, while this version declares Centella Asiatica extract alone, 29th of 35. They also come from different factories — Cosmecca Korea makes the retail cream, E&C this one — though VT Cosmetics is the responsible seller for both.
How does the price compare?
The Daiso cream is 5,000 KRW for 50ml, or 100 KRW per ml. VT's retail Cica Cream is the same 50ml at 26,000 KRW list, or 520 KRW per ml — 5.2 times more, or 4.2 times at its current 20,800 KRW sale price. Olive Young does not stock any VT cica cream, so the brand's own store is the comparison point (checked 2026-08-31).
Does it really contain Jeju centella?
The Daiso page markets Jeju-grown centella extract, and Centella Asiatica extract does appear in the declared ingredient list — but 29th of 35, below preservatives and thickeners, and the ingredient disclosure does not state a growing region. Korean labelling rules do not require origin to be declared, so the Jeju claim cannot be confirmed or refuted from the label.
Is it vegan certified, and does it contain petrolatum?
No vegan certification mark appears on the Daiso Mall listing or on VT's own pages, and a search of VT's Korean store returns no vegan-certified products. Petrolatum does not appear in the declared ingredient list (checked 2026-08-31).
